Exploring the visual landscape of Digital Natives
Aware of the term ‘Digital Natives’ used to describe the target audience of my research, I sought to explore digital media, with the aim of creating appropriate visual images to represent this group.
I scanned a 1cm square of inkjet printed text from a book, at a resolution of 2400. I then printed the new image, and repeated the process seven times. With each scan, I selected what looked to be the most aesthetically dynamic 1cm square area. This image is the result of this method.
I consider this work as a metaphorical visual response to the potential non-linear creative landscapes formed within the current generation of Digital Natives.
